22 cm rifled octagonal barrel of browned twist Damascus, on top gold inlaid inscription "Le Page Arq(uebusi)er du Roi" and "acier fondu", gold numbered "1" and "2", gold inlaid decoration on the breech end, blue tempered sights, colour hardened bar-in-wood percussion lock without lockplate and counterplate, engraved with scroll, rounded hammer with swept spur, direct trigger, rolled trigger guard with finger spur, en-suite engraved, walnut half-stock, steeply angled pistol grip with chequering, grip-end and fore-end tip carved in shape of a scallop, barrel held by a wedge fastener in silver bushings, total length 38 cm, 920 g, in its maker's original case with all accesories, veneered with burr walnut, lined with gold embossedem leather, lid lined with velvet, year of manufacture around 1850, made by the gunmaker of the Royal court of France, Jean André Prosper Henri Le Page (1792 - 1854), pistol No. 2 missing a silver inlay on the nipple, otherwise condition II, the case with one compartment lid missing and the veneer cracked, therefore condition III.
