Austro-Hungary, miner's official sabre

Starting price 240 EUR
Result:
700 EUR

Apparently a variation of the standard pattern of the sabre for Montanist state officials: 81 cm long, double-edged blade, on the ricasso "W&ST", in the upper third with floral etching and the inscription "Glück auf!". The blade has been abrasively cleaned, the etching therefore only barely visible. Red butt felt, symmetrical, decoratively pierced brass basket with mallet and iron and the inscription "Glück Auf", grip wood with checkering and brass wire winding, nickel-plated metal scabbard with applied brass medallion (mallet and iron) and sabre link. Attached an officer's sword knot "K", condition III.
