Austro-Hungary, officer's trousers e.g. artillery

Starting price 200 EUR
not sold

Long trousers made of black worsted yarn with side-seam passepoiling of scarlet levelling cloth for officers of the infantry and the Bosnian-Herzegovinian infantry, so-called 'saloon trousers', the use of which was also permitted to all ensigns and cadets. Such pantaloons were also to be worn with the service uniform of military doctors, officers of the general staff, the army staff, the artillery, wing adjutants, officials and the crew of the Military Geographical Institute, who had scarlet as their levelling colour or as an advance to black velvet levelling. The pantaloons have two diagonally cut, non-buttonable hip pockets, a buttonable back pocket at the right rear and a two-piece clasp of trouser fabric at the back, with a two-pin buckle to adjust the waist size. The waistband and fly are trimmed with black ivory nut buttons. Excellent condition I.
