Swiss ordnance pistol of the first generation. So called (according to BOBBA, Parabellum) A-series, 6. variant. This is a unique Swiss item. In 1914 DWM canceled the contract delivery to the Swiss government because of the outbreak of WWI. But Switzerland had a large need of handguns. So the training pistols of the Swiss military schools were sent to the Federal Arms Factory of Bern. These very well used guns were reworked and renumbered. There were only 100 units of these reworked pistols in the serial range of 5001A to 5100A. Our specimen is the second one of this unque and rare series. 120 mm long barrel, DWM-monogram on front toogle link, Swiss Cross in starburst on chamber. All numbers matching as far as visible, orig. finish of ca. 98% originale blueish black brush blueing, worn off at the edges and on grip, small parts straw hardened. Walnut-grip panels, original sheet metal magazine with normal follower knob (2nd type). Safety lever with square cut checkering, very good bore condition. Comes with an original holster of the Swiss military pattern of 1900 but with an unusual compartment for an extra magazine. With shoulder strap, made by J. Mengisen of Bern in 1906. Extremely rare item of a special series with a rare holster type. No valid proof - condition I.
