Interesting arm made 1852, manually rotating cylinder, the front trigger blocks its movement, on top of the 6 " octagonal barrel signed "E. WHITNEY N. HAVEN CT". On the right hand side of the gold-washed frame "PATENT APPLIED FOR". Finish shallow and spotty, various dents on barrel, smooth walnut grips, up to 1854 only about 650 units of this extremely rare gun have been made, condition IV.
