67 cm smooth barrel, detachable muzzle ring, bead, action with rotary magazine for 4 cartridges, loading gate inscribed with maker's name and patent date "April 10 1866", central hammer, straight walnut stock, steel buttplate 33,5 cm, rare early repeating shotgun from the USA, Sylvester Roper designed this action together with Christopher Spencer at the time of the Civil War, due to missing rimless cartridges of the necessary type the function cannot be tested, almost no original finish left, year of manufacture about 1870, condition IV.
