63 cm partly octagonal barrel, inscribed with 39 Corn Street address and ".250" for the former calibre . 250 Rook, non-selective ejector, trim action with double lumps, traces of hardening colours, scroll engraving with maker's name, finely adjusted trigger, automatic slide safety on tang with gold inlaid "Safe", walnut stock, elongated pistol grip with engraved steel pistol grip cap, oval cheek piece, steel buttplate (rust pitted) 37.5 cm, blank silver stock oval, tear-off for end with horn tip (damaged), made around 1900 as a rook rifle, Birmingham re-proof for the shotgun bore, restored to condition 4.
