Long trousers made of black worsted yarn with side seam passepoiling made of scarlet equalizing cloth for officers of the infantry and the Bosnian-Herzegovinian infantry, so-called 'saloon trousers', the use of which was also permitted to all ensigns and cadets. Such pantaloons were also to be worn with the service uniforms of military doctors, officers of the General Staff, the Army Staff, artillery, wing adjutants, officers and crew of the Military Geographical Institute, who had scarlet as their levelling colour or as an advance to black velvet levelling. The pantaloons have two slanted hip pockets that cannot be buttoned, a buttoned back pocket on the right rear (Steinnuss trouser button broken off there), and a two-piece clasp of trouser fabric on the back, with a two-pin buckle to adjust the waistband. The waistband and fly are trimmed with black stone nut buttons. There are two leg buttons on the inside of each of the foot openings, with elastic strups to keep the trousers taut at all times. Excellent condition I.
