Barrel length 65 cm (25,5"), stock length 37,5 cm (14,75"), overall length 109 cm (43"), weight 4,1 kg, year of manufacture 1998, Austrian proof, condition 1-2
Upper barrel laterally flattened, lower barrel octagonal design, adjustable in front, double extractor, stepped engine-turned rib, fixed sights, double hand cocking with gold inlaid "K" and "KL", light colored base with side plates, Kersten crossbolt with additional locked barrel hooks, deep engraving of oak leaves on the fences and arabesques on the base, with scenes of red deer on the left, wild boar on the right and a vignette of roebuck on the underside, double trigger with set triggers in both blades, exquisitely grained walnut stock, fine chequering, three piece forearm with Deeley latch, pistol grip with horn end, Bavarian cheek piece with double fold, rubber recoil pad, sling swivels, German claw mount with scope Swarovski Habicht 3 - 10 x 42 A, reticle 4, mounting rings engraved to match.
Built as a technology demonstrator for the adjustable barrels and double hand cocking, the arrangement of the two hand cocking slides side by side is a most interesting approach: Josef Just thus enables selective cocking of a required lock, but also simultaneous cocking of both barrels in a single intuitive hand movement. This Bergstutzen comes from the private collection of the gunsmith and may without further ado be described as mint except for 2 scratches on the scope!

The name Just is one of the most traditional in Ferlach. The name Just already appears in the first gunsmith directories, the company was founded in 1790 and managed over 9 generations until its closure in 2012 after 222 years of family ownership. After an eventful history in the 18th and 19th centuries, which also had an impact on the whole village and the local gunsmiths, production was gradually increased in the 20th century. After the building of the Berlin Wall in Germany, Just increased production significantly to serve the West German market, and then after the fall of the Wall focused on the highest quality weapons, reducing production to less than 20 weapons per year, but maintaining high quality.
