76 cm barrels with concave rib inscribed with maker's address "26 Hanover Street Edinburgh and Perth", ejectors, distinctive trigger plate action with fine scroll engraving, safety lever on elongated tang, handsomely grained walnut stock with straight hand, extended with bakelite and wood by 4 cm to LOP 39 cm, fore-end with lever fastener, silver stock oval initialised "WHS", former No. 1 of a pair, year of manufacture between 1905 and 1909 according to the barrel address, action somewhat loose when the fore-end is taken off, otherwise condition 3. James MacNaughton patented this unique trigger plate action already in 1879, his neighbour John Dickson later developed from this the famous "Dickson Round Action". Today these names are both united as "Dickson & MacNaughton" under the same roof in Edinburgh.
