6 inch barrel with ventilated rib, chequered walnut grips, original blued finish. It is believed that only 500-700 units in .38 Special were made before production was dropped in favour of the Python, the J-frame MKIII being seen as direct sales competitor. German proof marks from 1972, condition 1-2.
