62 cm chopper lump barrels, Greener crossbolt, fore-end with Deeley latch and horn Schnabel, sliding tang safety, double triggers, extractor, oiled burr-walnut stock, horn buttplate, 35 cm, oval cheekpiece, express sights with additional folding leaf, exceptionally well preserved luxury rifle with full coverage colour hardening, Bulino-style panels of moose, wolf and wild boar, surrounded by finest English scroll engraving, back-action sidelocks with intercepting sears and cocking indicators, folding adjustable aperture sight in tang, in rare German big-game calibre 10.75x70R, buildt for a Russian potentate. The decidedly chequered history of this rifle as well as its voyage from Russia over the Middle East back to Eastern Europe, is featured in Harald Wolf's magazine "Hatari Times" No.3. An original issue as well as an original picture of a massive brown bear shot with this weapon are included in this lot, made in about 1910, German proof before 1945, weight 3.9 kg, condition 2.
