Hofbüchsenmacher Albert Staehle in Vienna" (Gunmaker to the Royal and Imperial Austrian Court), on the breech end gold inlaid numbered "1" and "2", brightly polished steel furniture engraved with foliate scroll, blue tempered dovetailed front sights, rear sights elevation adjustable by means of a key, bar-action percussion lock, engraved with foliate scroll and signed maker's name, lock counter-pin with brass bushing, single set trigger, trigger guard with finger spur, walnut half-stock, fluted grip, en-suite engraved grip cap with acorn shaped ends, fore-end tips carved with foliate scroll, barrel wedge fastener, total length 39 cm, 875 g, in a later added case of walnut with accesories, French fitted, made before 1867, the last recorded year of manufacture of the renowned maker, restored to condition 2.
