26 cm rifled octagonal barrel, inscribed on top "Devisme a Paris,", on the underside "acier fondu", numbered next to the nipples with "1" and "2", engraved with foliate scroll, medieval soldiers and dragons, blue tempered sights, bar-action percussion lock, engraved with foliate scroll, flat hammer with vertikal spur, counter-lock pin with bushing, finely adjusted direct trigger, trigger guard with finger spur, ebonised wood half-stock with fluted grip, en-suite engraved grip cap, fore-end carved with foliate scroll, barrel fastened by a wedge in a silver bushing, all other metal parts gold washed, total length 39 cm, 1060 g, in its maker's original ebonised wooden case holding all accesories, lined with green velvet, in the lid gold embossed with the maker's address, year of manufacture after 1850 (the year those premises were acquired), made by the well renowned Parisian gunmaker Jean-Louis Francois Devisme, presumably as presentation piece for the numerous exhibitions where he could repeatedly earn the medals of honour, condition II, the case condition III.
