Wahl" on the left sideplate, top lever engraved with a squirrel, en-suite engraved breeches, manual cocking slide on tang, behind that the automatic sliding safety, double trigger with single set trigger in front, straight grained walnut stock, pistol grip, en-suite engraved steel pistol grip cap with a monogram, swept cheekpiece, buttplate 37 cm, beavertail fore-end with schnabel tip, Deeley latch, carved foliate scroll surrounded fine chequering, on the left butt carved red stag, signed "W. Wahl / Thü", on the right a carved eagle chasing a hare, signed "WW", rail mounted red dot sight Hitpoint, 3,9 kg, year of manufacture 1990, condition 3. Design and begin of work on this gun started when planning the 40 years jubilee of the GDR, which never took place. Werner Wahl, who did the engraving and stock carving , was the teacher of the master class of engravers in Suhl. Peter Arfmann, today the chairman of the gunmaker's museum in Suhl, presented this weapon in his book "Suhler Luxusgewehre" on pages 84 to 86. The work on this gun was only finished after reunification and so became a witness and an icon of this arguably most affecting moment of the contemporary history of Germany.
