71 cm sleeved barrels, concave engine-turned rib without inscription, choked 1/4 & 1/2, ejectors, bright action with hardening colours on the inside, full-coverage engraved with shaded bold foliate scroll, on the lockplate fine Bulino style scenes partridges in a meadow on the left, pheasants in front of a forest on the right, a brace of red grouse over moorland on the action bottom, signed in the trigger guard "B. Tallett 97", self-opening bar-action sidelocks type Beesley, intercepting sears, cocking indicators, gas vents, disc-set strikers, automatic sliding tang safety with gold inlaid "Safe", double triggers, nicely grained walnut stock, straight hand, drop points, blank silver stock oval, chequered butt-end with engraved inletted steel corners, 37,5 cm, fore-end with Anson push-rod, year of manufacture 1908, London reproof 1995. As the makers kindly confirm this gun has been originally delivered with standard specifications. In 1994 it was sleeved, restocked and completely refurbished. It was given to the then young, talented and ambitious engraver Bradley Tallett, in the meantime a highly respected master engraver on his own, becoming famous above all for his work for the house of Purdey. This gun is completely unique, restored to condition 2.
