76 cm barrels of Whitworth Steel, concave rib inscribed with maker's address and "2", choked cylinder & 1/4, extractor, third grip, bright rounded action, top lever to be opened to the left (!), rebounding back-action hammer locks, short dolphin-shaped hammers, all engraved with finest English rose and scroll, double triggers, restocked with nicely grained walnut with straight hand, chequered horn buttplate 37 cm, fore-end with Anson push-rod, on the comb a blank gold inlaid oval, fore-end inlaid with a gold diamond, in a (later added) leather motor case with maker's trade label, year of manufacture 1886, stock cracked on top and below the left lockplate, restored to condition 3.
