W: Porter's Patent. 1851", dovetailed sights offset to the left, vertically rotating cylinder magazine for 8 shots, on the right a horizontally working hammer, action with hinged plate on the right, secured push button holding the underlever, walnut buttstock, straight hand, steel buttplate 33,5 cm, without fore-end, year of manufacture around 1855, very rare percussion breechloader with doubtful reputation (due to the unique design one loaded chamber will point in the direction of the user), earlier than the Civil War, remarkably well preserved original condition with partially patinated finish, condition II-III.
