61 cm octagonal barrel, engine-turned top, open sights with two additional folding leaves, engraved "50, 100, 250 yds", originally colour hardened action, opened by a flat bolt handle resembling a bolt action handle, this turning through 180° by thread and extracts the caseheads of the needlefire cartridges, while automatically pushing the hammer to its loading sear. The hammer is hinged and the exchangeable needle is attached by a wing bolt. The action is full-coverage engraved with bold scroll, on the left inscribed "W & J Rigby" and right "Dublin", the barrel is inscribed with the full address, well grained original walnut stock, straight hand, steel buttplate 36 cm, fore-end with small schnabel tip and wedge fastener, year of manufacture after 1860 according to the Rigby and Norman Patent No. 899 of 1860, well preserved luxury version of the renowned maker, condition II-III..
