"63 cm half octagon barrel, inscribed with 39 Corn Street address and ".250" for former caliber .250 Rook, non-selective ejector, slim base with s/s hook lock, remnants of hardening colors, arabesque engraving with maker's name, finely adjusted trigger, automatic slide safety on butt neck with gold inlaid "Safe", walnut stock, elongated pistol grip with engraved steel pistol grip cap, oval cheek piece, steel butt cap (rusty) 37.5 cm, blank silver stock monogram plate, breakaway forend with horn finish (this damaged), made around 1900 as a Rook Rifle, Birmingham re-shot for the shotgun caliber, restored to condition 4."
