Korth were founded by the eponymous Willi Korth. The former Mauser employee began in his company in Ratzeburg (Germany) initially with the production of gas revolvers and from 1955 with sharp weapons. The first revolver of his own design followed in 1962. The company soon became the most prominent German manufacturer of high quality revolvers. In the early 1980s, Willi Korth retired from the business for health reasons and sold his company. The company in its original form was finally liquidated in bankruptcy in 1999. Changing owners and business areas led to the final closure of the Ratzeburg location in 2008. Under new ownership, the brand was revived just one year later and is still managed today with new headquarters in Lollar. The tradition of quality and craftsmanship was joined by modern production methods and the use of materials.
