Barrels marked "Forgeron Liege" and "Acier comprime", quarter rib with German claw mount bases, fixed sights, ejectors, bright action engraved with ornaments, colour case hardened on the inside, disc-set strikers, locking via double underlugs and purdy nose, sliding tang safety, double trigger with articulated front blade, fore-end with Anson push-rod, walnut stock, Prince of Wales grip, cut stock end, with a leather case - interior worn. Proof marks not fully discernible, *Y for proof marker of the period 1927-1955.
A good hunting rifle in a versatile calibre from the house of the Liege gunsmith Alphonse Forgeron.
