The Colt Python is an American revolver classic of the first rank. In production since 1955, Jeff Cooper, the personified combat shooting legend par excellence, described it as "the finest revolver ever made". Our example is stored in a plastic case and is in near mint condition.
In 1846/47 Samuel Colt designed his first production-ready revolvers, still with percussion ignition. In 1848 the first factory was built and Colt has been one of the most important manufacturers of revolvers ever since. But it was not until the designs of J.M. Browning (Mod. 1895 and M1911) and Eugene Stoner (M16) that Colt celebrated its greatest commercial successes, becoming one of the standard bearers of the US armed forces. In the meantime, Colt has become a part of the CZ Group.
