The engraver Florian Güllert learned after his journeyman examination as a gunsmith and stockmaker at the gunsmith school Ferlach the craft of the engraver. After successfully graduating, he founded the company "Handgraveur Florian Güllert", now he works as part of "Hansegrav" for international customers such as Karl Hauptmann - Ferlach or Hartmann & Weiss - Hamburg.
Karl Hauptmann I worked for the Steyr rifle factory before setting up his own business in 1939. The family-run company, based in Ferlach, was finally managed by Karl Hauptmann II in 1964 and by Gerd Hauptmann from 2005. Hauptmann's mission is to produce hunting rifles that are of high quality but, above all, intended for use. This practical approach is by no means at the expense of the elegance and beauty of the manufactured pieces. Hauptmann is particularly fond of technical refinements. In 1994, they created a horizontal bolt action. This and a number of other technical innovations and adaptations are protected by utility models and are therefore reserved for the customers of Karl Hauptmann Jagdwaffen.
