The name Just is one of the most traditional in Ferlach. The name Just already appears in the first gunsmith directories, the company was founded in 1790 and managed over 9 generations until its closure in 2012 after 222 years of family ownership. After an eventful history in the 18th and 19th centuries, which also had an impact on the whole village and the local gunsmiths, production was gradually increased in the 20th century. After the building of the Berlin Wall in Germany, Just increased production significantly to serve the West German market, and then after the fall of the Wall focused on the highest quality weapons, reducing production to less than 20 weapons per year, but maintaining high quality.
