Barrel length 11,5 cm, no valid proof, condition 3-4
Civilian production with rim engraving and octagonal barrel. Historic Vienna proof from 1899, matching numbers. 1899 was the first production year of the Army Revolver M.98 Sytem Rast & Gasser. Our example is actually the 30th revolver of this type ever produced in a civilian deluxe finish with high gloss bluing, but it is already quite stained or rubbed off. Inscription on the lockplate left front "L. GASSER PATENT WIEN", proof mark at the bottom of the barrel. Since this is an (extremely) early example, the stock for the set bolt is missing. The octagonal barrel is unique for this type. Highly interesting piece for Gasser collectors!
