The engraver Florian Güllert learned the craft of engraving after his journeyman's examination as a gunsmith and shaper at the HTL Ferlach. After his successful graduation he founded the company "Handgraveur Florian Güllert", now he works as part of "Hansegrav" for international customers like Karl Hauptmann - Ferlach or Hartmann & Weiss - Hamburg.
Karl Hauptmann I worked for the rifle factory Steyr before he started his own business in 1939. The family-run company, based in Ferlach, was finally managed by Karl Hauptmann II in 1964 and by Gerd Hauptmann from 2005. At Hauptmann, the company's mission is to create high-quality hunting rifles that are, above all, designed for use. This practical approach is by no means at the expense of the elegance and beauty of the manufactured pieces. Hauptmann is particularly fond of technical refinements. In 1994, the company created a horizontal rifle drilling. This and a number of other technical innovations and adaptations are protected by utility models and are therefore reserved for customers of Karl Hauptmann Jagdwaffen.
