Pistol Smith & Wesson1913 luxury version cal. 35 S&W Auto #6384 § B

Starting price 2.500 EUR

Barrel length 8,9 cm (3,5“), overall length 17 cm (6,5“), weight 0,71 kg, year of manufacture 1919, no proof, condition 1-2. Fully engraved luxury weapon (foliage motifs), trigger and breech coupling gold plated, on the grip piece on the front left a car inlaid in gold, on the reverse the model and caliber, on the right monogram „PME“ on the front and the year of manufacture on the rear. On the barrel housing at the top the company inscription with patent data, on the left a zeppelin and on the right an airship of the US Navy in gold, the breech and the grip safety blue annealed, bone grips cut with arabesques. The S&W Model 1913 pistol, also known as the Model 35, is distinguished by unusual technical features. First of all, the front-mounted grip piece safety and the bolt that can be decoupled from the mainspring. Due to the strong cartridge .35 S&W Auto on the one hand, and on the other hand, the mass bolt, which is possibly too weak, the recoil spring is so strong that it is impossible to manually retract the bolt (in this case, it is not possible to speak of a slide) for loading. For this reason, there is a bolt coupling that must be actuated on the left side (to be pressed in before retracting the bolt) in order to decouple the bolt from the preloading device. Now it can be loaded through, and when the breech is closed, the clutch must be actuated again to re-establish a connection with the fore-end spring. A technically highly interesting weapon in an appealing private luxury version in mint condition. Only the gold plating on the bolt coupling is slightly worn. Collector‘s weapon without (valid) proof, transferred for storage due to its art or collectible value.
