Hammer-s/s double rifle J. Nowotny - Prague cal. 7 x 57 R #13128 § C (I)

Starting price 1.500 EUR

Barrel length 58.5 cm (23“), stock length 35.5 cm (14“), total length 99 cm (39“), weight 3.9 kg, built around 1906, Austrian proof, restored condition 2-3. Barrels made from Krupp Steel, originally caliber C 6.7.R, new proof in 1982, also in Ferlach with caliber adjustment to 7 x 57 R, barrels engraved with „J. Nowotny - Prag“, ramp front sight, matted wide rail with open sights and mounting bases for optics, Kahles Helia Super 27 S2 rifle scope attached via claw mount, extractor, slightly reinforced barrel flanks, Greener nose with crossbar, firing pins inserted from the rear, locks with recessed dolphin-shaped hammers, engraved “J. Nowotny“, action and lock plates decorated with engravings of arabesques and floral bouquets, color-hardened double trigger, both triggers equipped with set triggers, peep sight broken out on the stock wrist, sling swivels, evenly grained stock wood with fine checkering, forend with rotating lever, buttstock with pistol grip, oval cheek piece and metal butt plate Integrated fold-out compartment for 3 cartridges. Aside from the small defect on the diopter, this is a well-restored hunting rifle from the Prague master that has been discreetly brought into the modern era. The slim stock wrist makes it particularly handy.
