Barrel blued, barrel steel „Acciaio Poldi Anticorro“, engine-turned rib with silver bead front sight, locked doll‘s head, extractor, color-case-hardened scalloped receiver with arabesques and floral bouquets, engraved on the underside „Virgilio & Figlio Nerio Cortesi Vergiano“, triggerplate action, blued opening lever and trigger guard decorated with arabesques, color-hardened double triggers, front trigger operates the upper barrels, the rear trigger actuates the lower barrel, slide tang safety, forend with subtle schnabel and checkering, Deeley release with arabesques, straight buttstock with checkering, teardrop, stock end made of wood with checkered texture, there is a removable black stock end Lid. Originally founded by Gioseppe Cortesi, the family business located in Vergiano Rimini on the Adriatic Sea stands for creative solutions and Italian approaches in the field of weapons technology. Continued by his son Virgilio and grandson Nerio, high-quality and individual shotguns are manufactured there. The “Tripletta Italiana” presented here is a special collector’s item. Initially as a variant with side locks, this was later modernized into a compact version with a flash lock. The #18 presented here is therefore the only 18th version of this rare “Tre-Canne” ever made - an absolute collector‘s item, very well preserved with a fine patina.
