Parabellum, Mauserwerke, P08 franz. Besatzung / österr. Bundesheer bzw. Frankreich/Österreich/Italien, 7,65 mm Parabellum

Starting price 600 EUR
Result:
700 EUR

Rare gun with an interesting history: It was originally manufactured in 1945/46 in the Mauser plant of Oberndorf under the French occupation. In 1955 it was liberated by the Austrian Federal Army (property mark "eagle beside BH" on lhs). After the surplus sale in the mid 1960s it came to Italy. There it was rebarreled to .30 Luger due to reasons of the Italian gun act (the 9 mm Luger caliber was prohibited for civilian use at that time) The gun received minor modifications and was given Italian proof marks. Mauser banner stamped on the front toggle link, all numbers matching excluding the milled fxo-magazine. Brownish black plastic grip panels (GDR?). Very good bore, Ital. proof marks from 1965, condition II. See MÖTZ/SCHUY, Weiterentwicklung II pp. 388, COSTANZO, World of Lugers, p. 420 or HALLOCK / VAN DE KANT, The Mauser Parabellum 1930 - 1946, pp. 599f, 602, and 604.
